Basic quantum mechanics
Elements of atomic and molecular physics, solid state physics and elementary particle physics
3. Course contents *
In this course, the
consequences of symmetry in quantum physics are being examined. The most
important concepts are being introduced: starting from abstract group
theory, point groups, representation theory, matrix-element theorems,
basic elements of the Lie-group SO(2), and space groups. Applications
are considered in atomic, molecular, solid state and elementary particle
