specific prerequisites for this course
Is is expected that the students are familiar with a number of statistical principles as well as with classical and instrumental analytical chemistry, physical chemistry and physics, in particular:
- atomic and molecular absorption and emission, fluorescence and the associated instrumentation
- the physical properties of electrical and magnetic fields, of electromagnetic radiation, the quantised nature of electronic levels in atoms and molecules.
Also some knowledge of optics and the interaction of radiation with matter is expected.
