3. Course contents *

  • Basic concepts and definitions (pace of reaction when the volume changes, kinetics of homogeneous reactions, repetition of thermodynamics, ...)
  • Design and comparison of simple ideal reactors for simple reactions (the discontinuous reactor, the continuous mixim drum and plugflow reactor).
  • Design of reactors for parallel reactions in order to get an optimal product distribution.
  • Selecting the temperature and the temperature's curve of  non-isothermic reactors (adiabatic and non-adiabatic reactors)
  • Introduction to  non-ideal flow profiles and different liquid models (e.g., residence time distribution, dispersion model, ...)
  • Introduction to heterogeneous reactions (pakced bed reactor).
