The Conservation Internship is organized in collaboration with external organisations active in the field of conservation/restoration, e.g. NGOs such as Natuurpunt or Greenpeace, governmental bodies such as the Nature and Forest Agency, etc. Students are trained at applying their knowledge and skills to a practical conservation/restoration issue, e.g. selecting priority habitats in conservation/restoration planning, evaluating the consequences of legislation and international treaties on conservation/restoration, problems of ex situ conservation such as in zoos, conflicts between conservation/restoration targets and society, etc. Students efefctively receive training in (or become acquainted with) the conservation activities of the organization, and do not merely assist with field work or with analyzing data.
