3. Course contents *

In depth knowledge of scientific models is required within a knowledge economy. The insight allows to understand, select, use and deploy scientific knowledge and research results from various disciplines, in the product development process and applied scientific research to generate new knowledge.  Then, scientific methods allow to set up and deploy design-related research to verify and check the feasibility of critical aspects of the product development process.

Based upon a concrete research problem in product development, a literature review is made, a research question is defined, an experimental design is summarized and performed, results are statistically evaluated and conclusions are described.
