3. Course contents *

The course focus on revision and editing theory and practice.

Revision theory: revision as a concept, revision in kindred disciplines, revising versus editing, revision in the European standard for translation services (EN15038) and main concepts such as revision degree, revision parameters, revision procedures, revision principles, revision competence, revision quality, revision terminology. ( Brunette, 2000 , 2003a , 2003b ; Brunette, Gagnon, & Hine, 2005 ; Hansen, 2009b ; Hernández-Morin, 2009 ; Horguelin & Brunette, 1998 ; Künzli, 2005 , 2006a , 2006b , 2006c , 2007a , 2007b , 2009 ; Mossop, 1992 , 2001 , 2007 ; Parra Galiano, 2007a , 2007b ) .

Revision and editing practice: revision of translations from French, English or German; editing of original texts in Dutch.
