Probing interactions - exploring and designing human-product interactions!
This 7-week project focusses on human-product interactions - or the way people use, understand, and experience products and situations. Starting from a specific theme and the subsequent observations, students are challenged to develop an innovative interaction scenario. This interactions scenario can be exemplified through a product, a service, an environment, or any combination of these.
This module follows two cycles:
- Observing, exploring and designing interactions (4 weeks before internship): In this cycle students choose one of three predefined topics and observe and analyse interactions with the exploratieve tools that are provided in this module. Starting from these observations students develop an innovative interaction-vision and interaction-concept.
- Evaluating Interactions (3 weeks after internship): In this cycle students explore the effects of their interaction-concept and evaluate how it effects the personal and social context. They end the module with a small-scale (qualitative) evaluation study en formulate recommendations for further development.
Structure and theaching method:
- Studio work (56h): 28h (7 x 4h) design consultation with tutor + 28h (7 x 4h) buddy work - students guide each other (supervised by tutor).
- Theory and workshops (28u): In these sessions we provide the tools (explorative and evaluative tools) that are necessary to succesfully complete the module.
