3. Course contents *

During the course, several aspects of acute intoxications will be discussed; i.e. nature, approach, antidotes, etc...The importance of metabolism in toxicology will also be studied. The most frequently occurring types of side effects will be  discussed from an organ-physiological point of view.

 

In a seminar, you will be shown on how to look up, make critical evaluations and process objective information on drug info. Each student has to practice evaluating drug information as he/she will be given an assignment.

In general toxicology we will study the toxicity of solvents, gases, recreational drugs, pesticides, and persistent organic pollutants. Treatment procedures for acutely intoxicated patients will also be examined during the course.
