3. Course contents *

This course aims to provide students with the scientific and technological foundations of contemporary human genetics (about 60% of the material). On the other hand the course aims to familiarize students with the principles and applications of pharmacogenetics (about 40% of the material). To this end, the following topics are discussed:

1. Mutations and genetic variants

2. Autosomal dominant and recessive inheritance patterns of genetic disorders

3. X-linked and non-traditional inheritance patterns of genetic disorders

4. Cancer Genetics

5. Multifactorial genetics

6. Fundamentals of gene therapy

7. Introduction to pharmacogenetics

8. Guest lectures by pharmacogenetic expert

9. Visit to pharmacogenetic laboratory
