3. Course contents *

This course consists of a speaking (3 weeks) and writing component (10 weeks).

Starting from the question what level of intervention is required to make spoken and written texts communicate as effectively as possible, the course focuses on the dichotomy accuracy-fluency.

For speaking you will primarily take yourself as a study object.

For the writing component different issues addressed will be: types and levels of text editing, issues with which a text editor has to deal (including plagiarism, copyright and the question of ethics), and the complex process of text editing.
On the basis of different authentic texts you will work through the different phases of text editing with support from international specialists in the field.
