3. Course contents *

For every student, the course content consists of a selection of project- and practical assignments concerning the following subjects:

  • Continuous distillation
  • Batchdistillation (packed column)
  • Azeotropical distillation
  • Absorption and reaction with the aid of a bubble reactor
  • Absorption of sulfur dioxide and iodine gas with water
  • Reactors (fluidized bed reator, batchreactor, CSTR, microreactor, electrochemical reactor, ...)
  • Solid-liquid extraction
  • liquid-liquid extraction
  • Setting up liquid-steam equilibrium and/or liquid-liquid equilibrium
  • Determining the residence time distribution in a continuous reactor
  • Heat transfer with the aid of heat exchangers
  • Line losses
  • Setting up pump characteristics
