This highly interactive course is intended to introduce students to James Joyce's main masterwork from his mature years, Ulysses.

Joyce's Ulysses has been voted the finest and most important English-language novel published in the twentieth century. This course offers a unique opportunity to find out why, by reading the novel in its entirety, in sessions of two chapters per week. Multiple guest lectures and audiovisual materials will help you get a grasp on this masterpiece and enjoy its playful originality.

The course is normally taught in tandem by Prof. Bart Eeckhout and another lecturer, but the second lecturer still needs to be identified.
