3. Course contents *

This course aims to give an insight into the molecular biophysics, physiology and pharmacology of ion channels and receptors and other transport systems in biological membranes.

To be treated: experimental techniques (patch clamp, noise analysis, fluorescence, FRET, etc.), analysis of patch clamp results, mathematical models and molecular structure-function analysis. The theoretical part is supplemented by presentation of a critical review of scientific articles that further highlight the topics treated. The practical work involves computer models and experiments with the patch clamp technique.
