3. Course contents *

This course will be given by several guest lecturers that are experts in use of different model organisms such as C. Elegans, Drosophila, Yeast, Arabidopsis, Xenopus and mice. For each model a general introduction will be given to development (morphogenesis, specification and determination) and techniques (breeding, identification of genes or proteins, etc.) used. Next each lecturer will go into details of the use of these models to study specific aspects of biological processes such as aging in C. elegans, neurodegeneration in Drosophila, nutrient-sensing mechanisms in yeast, and others.
