3. Course contents *

Starting from a good general knowledge of Spanish/Latin American area studies (see prerequisites), the following topics will be studied from a transdisciplinary approach: development in Latin America and Spain since the end of the Cold War; interaction between centre and periphery; international relations and transnationalism. In a first part of the course, introductory lectures will prepare the students to elaborate a presentation on one of the following sub-topics: international relations: Spain and Latin America; Spain and Africa (Sub-Saharian region; Morocco; Western Sahara;...); Latin America and the United States; Latin America and the European Union; Latin America and China; Regionalism in Latin America.
