3. Course contents *

This course gives an in-depth overview of affective, cognitive and behavioral aspects of consumer behavior. The consumer and consumer behavior are studied and framed within current theories on human behavior. The course thoroughly studies emotions and motivations and how they interact in guiding consumer behavior. Special emphasis is placed on the finding that a consumer is not always a rational decision maker. Consumer behavior is often (unconsiously)  influenced by various situational and environmental factors. This will be illustrated with recent academic papers. Additionally, the course  highlights special forms of consumption such as green consumption behavior, luxury consumption, and consumption in virtual worlds. Each year academic researchers are invited to introduce their work on a relevant consumer topic.
