Part 1 Portfolio of addended research seminars

Students need to build a portfolio of attended research seminars.  The topics selected should be a a balanced mixture between applied, theoretical, methodological, as well as empirical economic research.
The seminars and conferences are organised by the Faculty of Applied Economics of the Antwerp or external organisations (NBB, European Commission, Financial Forum, …).

Each student will have to write a referee report (3 to 5 pages) based on the paper and the presentation of 3  seminars/lectures. The objective is to collect a portfolio of papers varying over topic and methodology.

2. Research report
Each student selects a topic for individual qualitative or quantitative research. Students are required to write one research report (circa 15 pages). Students will present their research report to the supervisors and the fellow students at the end of the second semester. After each presentation, a discussion will be held. Each student will act as a discussant of a paper of a fellow student.
