3. Course contents *

This course focuses on the functioning of banks in the economy and in financial markets. More specifically, the role of banks in financial intermediation is explored, with a focus on the Belgian and European context. Students also gain insights into the financial management of banks. Topics include the management of interest rate risk, market risk, credit risk and liquidity risk, with sufficient attention to regulatory requirements. Capital and cost management is also discussed.
