3. Course contents *

This course analyses a selection of topics in health economics. Economic theory, and especially microeconomic theory and is used to provide students with insights into the behaviour of patients and providers, the workings of health insurance markets and government intervention and regulation. The basic principles of health economic evaluation are explained.

Basic knowledge is illustrated using recent scientific publications. These themes will be related to both developed and developing economies.
