Institutions play a vital role in the political domain, both in national and international contexts. After all, political actors make decisions and develop policies within institutional settings. This course deald with how institutions constrain and enable the potential for political cooperation, and how they shape political decision-making. In addition, we will study three applied theories on how actors make political decisions, namely the veto-player theory, the bargaining theory, and the principal-agent theory. Thereby, this course allows you to gain thorough insights into the role of institutions for political decision-making.
