The skills lab allows to learn and practice core skills involved in political decision-making, such as argumentation, debating, negotiation, advocacy and writing. It provides an opportunity to develop essential skills beyond the “DOs-and-DON’Ts”-lists you can find on the Internet. In this course, we will discuss which approaches are effective, and explain why, referring to literature and the core courses in the program. We will train the skills by means of assignments, exercices and simulations building on real-life situations. The course involves professionals (lobbyists, consultants, administrators and diplomats) to provide feedback as to prepare you for a career in the field of political decision-making.
