3. Course contents *

I-Robotics will give the students a glimpse of probabilistic reasoning and Bayesian filtering by applying these to the field of mobile robots. We will study various methods of how robots can perceive the world and estimate their location in the environment. We will study how they can plan a route on a map, and how they can construct such a map given the sensors with which they are equipped. Moreover, during the labs, the students will have the chance to try out these concepts on a real mobile robot that is often used as a research platform. They will utilize state-of-the-art open source software that allows the brightest students to also take a look under the hood of the user controls.
