Software Engineering is aimed at the systematic design, development and maintenance of large software systems that need to be delivered within a given time constraint, that are reliable and efficient, that comply to the requirements of the customer, and are maintainable in the long term.

The theoretical part of this course covers contemporary principles, techniques and skills that are used in the software industry. The theoretical lessons are supplemented with guest lectures, in which experts from the industry share their expertise through a software engineering use case from their domain. The course also has a very practical approach: in the laboratory sessions the students apply the studied techniques on a large software system in a group project to obtain the required skillset.
