3. Course contents *

 Starting from essential food components, over biological active components, main part of this course is contributing to the xenobiotics in food.

The three groups are additives, contaminants and transgenic food (genetically manipulated food.

The part of contaminants is quite related to toxicology and various items are related to "bio": bioavailability, biotransformation, biomonitoring, bioassay, bioaccumulation, etc

Main chapters are: heavy metals, PCB's, dioxines, pesticides and ggo's.
