The central topics of this course module are ‘designing a learning environment through the implementation of student-activating instruction methods’, ‘assessing students’ learning’ and ‘tutoring students’ learning processes. The following questions are attended to:
- Which aspects in the learning environment are related to students’ learning and how are these aspects related to one another.
- Which student characteristics are related to their learning process and how do students differ on these characteristics
- How can a tutor design a learning environment that stimulates students to adopt a deep approach to learning? What instructional methods incite a deep approach to learning?
- Which aspect should a tutor take into account when assessing students? How are learning and assessment related to each other?
