What activities qualify as an internship?

The internship activity must be part of a product development process or must be research related to product development.

The internship takes place within a company or research institution. There must be at least one senior product developer or an R & D department.

Design agencies or production companies with a design department are very interesting. More marketing-oriented, or research-oriented organizations are also eligible.

The internship of elective internship or elective design project must be completely disconnected from the Master Thesis. Collaboration with an industrial promoter in the course of his or her Master Thesis will not be accepted as an elective internship. An elective internship may lead to a topic for a graduation project at a later stage.

The internship is unpaid. Thus, a paid student job can not be recognized as an Internship, regardless of its content.

Foreign courses are also eligible if sufficient information about the internship can be submitted.

• The scope of the work must be in accordance with the study load provided for the course "Internship". This is at least 78 hours for 3 ects points.

• The student can also present an internship for the optional Design Workshop. This can be combined with the internship of optional internship. In this case, the internship thus requires at least 156 hours for 2 x 3 ects points. In practice, 78 hours are experienced as very short. This arrangement meets this requirement.

• If desired the period may be longer. However, the maximum number of ects points to acquire remains 2 x 3.
