The internship can be organized within a company, consulting office, public service, … and needs to be

chosen carefully to guarantee that your competences will be easily and sufficiently assessed within a

real working environment.

Internships in design offices or manufacturers, having development or design activities,

will be recommended in this context since they provide the best guarantee.

The internship needs to be verifiable relevant to the discipline ‘interior design’. It should focus on

thought and design processes related to the discipline and/or emphasize practical working activities to

hone your designing skills. Traineeships which combine design activities, site & customer visits and

commissioning are optimal to gain insight for the discipline in the field.

Possible work placements in the field (non-exhaustive) :

Consulting office (specialized or multi-disciplinary), planning bureau,(furniture) design agency, advisory

service, construction company, community service, transportation company, arts sector, theatre,

cultural centre, museum, lighting consultant, retail chain, event planning agency, production studio, …
