In July 2022, with the support of VLIR-UOS, the Global Health Institute reunited our academic staff with Master of Epidemiology alumni in Tanga, Tanzania, for our very first Alumni Event (for Sub-Saharan African-based alumni). Four days of workshops and social activities accumulated in founding the SSA-based MEPI-Alumni Chapter.

This year we are hosting our next Alumni Event in Belgium! This event will be open to all European-based Master of Epidemiology alumni and will consist of expert talks and networking. The tentative agenda (as well as a list of speakers) can be found below.

Practical Information

What?
A 3-day alumni event hosted by the Global Health Institute. During this time our MEPI academic staff and other contributors will be hosting a variety of state-of-art talks on Epidemiology and Global Health, and topics requested by alumni.
This event is currently under the approval process for accreditation as part of Life Long Learning and being authorized for 'eductional leave'. We will keep you updated on the outcome.
IMPORTANT: We request all participating alumni to prepare a short presentation about their professional life since their studies (detailed information to come).

When and where?
The event will take place at Chôdes (near Malmédy) from Wednesday, September 20th (morning) until Friday, September 22nd 2023 (afternoon).

How?
All participants will travel together by coach from Antwerp to Chôdes and back. Joint bus transport is foreseen. In case you are travelling from outside of Belgium, please make sure to indicate this when registering for the event.

How much?
We are asking for a small participation fee of €50, which will cover all event costs (transportation costs for travel outside of Belgium, accommodation, food/drink and materials). Please note that once your participation fee is paid, there are no reimbursements in case of cancellations.
