Xsens MTw Awinda is a wireless motion capture system based on wearable inertial sensors, designed to capture human movement in 3D in real time. The system combines compact, lightweight trackers with a proprietary radio protocol, providing precise motion data without the need for cables or cameras.

How It Works
MTw Awinda uses inertial measurement units (IMUs) placed on the body, which measure acceleration, rotation, and magnetic field data. The data is transmitted wirelessly to a central receiver. Thanks to the Awinda radio protocol, all sensors are perfectly synchronized, enabling the simultaneous capture of complex, articulated movements without direct line of sight. The system supports configurations from single body segments up to full-body setups.

Main Advantages

  • Complete freedom of movement with motion capture without cables, markers, or cameras, allowing fast setup times and total freedom of movement.
  • Accurate and ready-to-use data, with sensors transmitting synchronized information in real time, ready for analysis, simulation, or animation. All data can be recorded and easily integrated into dedicated software.
  • Flexible configurations thanks to a modular system that can be adapted to different needs, from tracking individual joints to full-body monitoring, while always maintaining high precision and reliable data.
  • Advanced technology through the Awinda protocol, which ensures synchronization and reliability even in complex scenarios, minimizing data loss and maintaining consistent tracking quality. Wireless transmission allows motion capture in both indoor and outdoor environments without any physical constraints.
