Celebrating five years of sharing knowledge and sparking curiosity in art conservation.

We are thrilled to announce the fifth annual edition of ‘Conservation by the Next Generation’ digital student conference. With this edition of ConNext, we mark half a decade of fostering knowledge and curiosity in a global and all-inclusive environment for emerging furniture, wood, and object conservators.

Over the past years, we have seen ConNext grow beyond what we anticipated. What started as a small initiative between Belgian, Dutch, German and English partners, has evolved into a trans-Atlantic partnership across 13 conservation training institutes.  Ever since the first edition back in 2021, we’ve been annually impressed by the quality of student presentations. Over the years, we have covered a broad range of topics related to our discipline, from conservation ethics and degradation phenomena to out-of-the-box practical approaches.

This wealth of knowledge is a real testament to our students’ passion, creativity, and enthusiasm to share their hard work. Don’t take our word for it, but find out for yourself on the ConNext YouTube channel, featuring over 100 student and keynote papers from all past editions.
