Monday 1 September - Heritage climatology

The programme on the first day kicks off in the afternoon with an introduction, followed by a session on climate sciences and heritage climatology.

Tuesday 2 September - Moisture in Buildings

The second day is organised around the understanding of moisture in buildings, with sessions focussing on theory, traditional and advanced measurement and monitoring techniques, and a special session on hyperspectral imaging as innovative imaging technique.

Wednesday 3 September - Material degradation and case study

The third day scopes common degradation mechanisms of stone built heritage, including freeze-thaw action and salt degradation. The day ends with a case study and site visit of museum Vleeshuis which is due for upcoming renovation works.

Thursday 4 September - Policy and management strategies

The fourth day has a morning programme putting knowledge in the broader perspectives, focussing on regional policies and introducing the results of European projects on heritage and climate change. The afternoon can be freely spent, with special suggestions for cultural visits in Antwerp. Students that also participate in the summer school of Stone25 can travel directly by train between Antwerp and Paris, using the Eurostar. Tickets should be booked in advance.
