Sarah Mingels qualified as a master in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in Belgium in 2007, and obtained a Manual Therapy certificate in 2011. She worked as an assistant in neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation at the Hasselt University (Belgium) before achieving a joint PhD from the universities of Leuven and Hasselt in 2020. During her PhD Sarah was a researcher at the Department of Biometrics at Hogeschool Zuyd (The Netherlands, dr. Ludo van Etten), and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the KU Leuven (Belgium, prof. dr. Wim Dankaerts) and UHasselt (Belgium, prof. dr. Marita Granitzer). Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher, lecturer, and coordinator at the KU Leuven. Main focus is on profiling patients with cervicogenic headache in a multidimensional framework. Sarah is actively involved in the development of a clinical guideline for physiotherapists working in the field of cervical pain and headache. She is still practicing as a physiotherapist/manual therapist in a private setting.
