Research team

Tomaso Ferrando is Research Professor at the Faculty of Law and Institute of Development Policy, University of Antwerp. He holds a Phd in law from Sciences Po University (Paris) and has been visiting a fellow at Harvard University Law School, University of Sao Paulo and the University of Cape Town. His main line of research focuses on the link between law and food, with particular attention to the international dimension (trade, investments, EU law and the human right to food) and the definition of spaces for local practices.

Giovanni Esposito is a Senior Research Associate at HEC Liège, Management School of the University of Liège and a Post-doctoral Researcher at the IOB Institute of Development Policy of the University of Antwerp. His expertise areas are public governance, organizational change, institutional analysis and strategic policy management. He has applied this expertise within different policy fields including transport infrastructures, labour migration, urban innovation, smart farming technology, agri-food transition, higher education reforms, national healthcare reforms and public administration reforms. Beside his academic activities, Giovanni has assisted and assists with his research expertise several national and international organizations, such as the Campania Region (Italy), Wallonia Region (Belgium), World Fair Trade Organization-Europe, International Centre for Migration Policy Development and European Commission.

After completing a Degree in Sociology at the Università degli Studi di Trento (Italy) in 2012, Naike Alberti has collected experiences both as office and field staff in social and environmental projects. He has collaborated with NGOs and educational institutions in Brescia (Italy), Freiburg (Germany), Zagreb (Croatia), Manresa (Spain), Ayacucho (Peru) and Brussels (Belgium), developing a growing interest in transdisciplinary approaches to sustainable food systems. He has recently obtained a Master’s Degree in Agroecology at the Université de Liège and the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium).

Advocacy team

Virginia Enssle, originally from Chile, is a Lawyer that studied Public International Law in the University of Groningen. Virginia works as Policy and Project Officer at the Fair Trade Advocacy Office since 2020. Virginia focuses on sustainable trade policy and agri-food.

Mikkel Kofod Nørgård

I have an MA in International Studies from University of Aarhus, with expertise in international politics and relations, project management, and fund-raising, and EU as well as Asian politics. I am currently managing the European branch and office of the World Fair Trade Organisation, representing Fair Trade Enterprises – mission-led businesses fully practicing Fair Trade – across Europe. On their behalf I do advocacy and awareness-raising work, collaborating with other international movements to demonstrate how Fair Trade and mission-led business models are amongst the key drivers of a new, sustainable economy. In my work I engage in topics like social economy, ethical business, poverty eradication, gender equality, and climate change.

Visual team

Native from the South of France, Ségolène Chassain is studying photography in Bruxelles, at the Septantecinq. The teaching output gives priority to an artist’s vision based on the creative process as a language and the documentary as a way of questioning the world.  She is working analog to keep the feeling of the materiality of the image and take the time to approach the subject.

Fabiano Lauciello, born in Bari 15 July 1981.

International Relations graduation and Demography and Economy PhD at Università degli Studi di Bari. After several jobs in refugees camps, now I’m a full time photographer and producer in movie industry. In my spare time, I am a skate instructor for the Italian Skateboarding Federation.

Panagiotis Baxevanis is a photographer born and based in Athens, Greece. Since 1997 he is a still life, architecture and interiors photographer. His clients include Greek magazines, architecture and interior design offices, jewellery designers, as well as consumer goods companies. Since 2010, he teaches photography at art and design schools (A.K.T.O, V.S.A) and for private groups. He is represented by the Ekfrasi-yianna grammatopoulou gallery.
