We aim to create avenues for citizens, duty bearers, and scientists to come together and co-create and share knowledge.
We will collaborate with duty bearers and CSOs to identify the most affected communities and organize community meetings where citizens, duty bearers, scientists, and other stakeholders can interface.
Mzumbe University, Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), IOB and Twaweza will jointly will set up an outreach Citizen Science Hub to facilitate:
- Mapping of actors in Citizen Science,
- Interface sessions between citizens, scientists, & duty bearers,
- Experiment with innovations in citizen science tools and technology use.
Throughout the project, researchers and Twaweza will collaborate with citizens, starting from identifying research issues, designing the project, collecting and interpreting data, to jointly disseminating the information. Dissemination tools will be co-created by citizens, duty bearers, and researchers, ensuring that the information shared is relevant and accessible.
