Transformative Social Policy in Times of Climate Change. Evidence from Around the World

The workshop brought together the co-authors of the AIPRIL book Transformative Social Policy in Times of Climate Change: Evidence from Around the World. The volume examines the intersection of social policy and climate change, exploring how policy can simultaneously address social inequalities and environmental challenges. Drawing on the concept of transformative social protection, it analyses case studies from diverse global contexts to assess how social policies can act as drivers of systemic change. Bringing together multiple disciplinary perspectives, the book offers insights into the design of policies that promote equity, resilience, and sustainability, and contributes to ongoing debates on eco-social transitions and sustainable welfare systems.

Over the course of the two-day workshop, contributors from across the globe—including members of the AIPRIL team—presented and discussed their draft chapters. The workshop fostered rich exchanges and helped further refine the collective direction of the volume.
