Bio

Aya Ahmed is an architect and design educator. She holds a bachelor's degree in architecture (2018) and a master's degree in Placemaking in Public Spaces from Ain Shams University, Egypt.

Since her graduation, she has been involved in architectural education and academic activities, alongside professional practice. Her experience includes participation in academic and professional architectural projects across several African countries.

She is currently a PhD researcher at the University of Antwerp. Her doctoral research critically examines the spatial, social, and institutional dimensions shaping green public open spaces in Cairo, with a focus on their role in urban livability, resilience, and the production of equitable urban environments.
