Successful networking visit to Prifysgol Abertawe/Swansea University

As part of the programme of this SRN, it was always planned in the Autumn of 2025 for a group of researchers from the participating Flemish universities to make a short visit to Swansea University, in order to share with each other our research activities, and find common ground.

Flemish and Welsh university researchers brought together through our SRN

Fiona Hamilton, Yonca Erkan, Pieterjan Deckers and Suzie Thomas made the journey, hosted by Hilary Orange and her colleagues. Over three full and fulfilling days, we shared short presentations, had illuminating walk-and-talk sessions in the beautiful botanical gardens and exploring the heritage of the Singleton Park Campus, experienced first-hand the activies of the wonderful Swansea Community Boat "Copper Jack" HPC custodians, and participated in an play-based urban drift discovering the city in new ways.

We had an excellent visit and appreciated the warm hospitality of the Swansea colleagues. Our next network-wide meeting will also be in Swansea, in 2026.
