About Andreas

Andreas Stynen is Associate Professor of Cultural Heritage Studies at KU Leuven. A historian specializing in cultural history, environmental history, memory studies, and nationalism studies, he previously worked at the ADVN – Archives for National Movements. His work spans heritage research on popular musical culture, transatlantic migration and tourism, resulting in both scholarly and public-facing outputs. He also served as scientific coordinator of the international NISE platform. Since 2018, he has coordinated KU Leuven’s postgraduate program in Cultural Heritage.
