We're happy to announce a new publication by Sarah Anschütz.

In her chapter Ghana is Different, part of the anthology The Stories We Tell: Creative Nonfiction Accounts of Our Research (edited by Elsje Fourie and Christin Hoene), Sarah writes a personal account from her fieldwork on youth mobility between Belgium and Ghana — a quiet afternoon visit to a young research participant in Antwerp, and her own arrival in Ghana months later.

The wider anthology brings together nineteen researchers from Maastricht University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, sharing personal and unexpected moments from their fieldwork the emotion, doubt, humour, and chance encounters.

These are stories that rarely find their way into academic articles, not because they don't matter, but because they don't fit the form and tone academic writing demands.
