Asher Auel was born in 1981 in the state of Oregon (U.S.). In 2009 he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Ted Chinburg. From 2009 to 2013 he was a postdoctoral researcher at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia) working with Parimala, at the Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences (New York) working with Yuri Tschinkel, and at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (Bonn, Germany). In 2013, he was appointed as a Gibbs Assistant Professor at Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut).

Karim Johannes Becher was born in 1973 in Munich (Germany). He received his Ph.D. in 2001 at the University of Besançon (France). His supervisors were Eva Bayer-Fluckiger and Detlev Hoffmann. Since 2012 he is a professor at the University of Antwerp.

David Leep completed his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 1980 under the supervision of Donald J. Lewis. In 1984 he became a professor at the University of Kentucky.

Raman Parimala was born in 1948 in Tamil Nadu (India). She finished her Ph.D. from the University of Mumbai in 1976 under the supervision of Sridharan. For many years, she was a professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Mumbai). In 2005 Parimala was appointed the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Mathematics at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia).

Suresh Venapally was born in 1966 in Vangoor, Telangana (India). He completed his Ph.D. in 1994 under the guidance of Parimala at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (India). From 2001 to 2014 he worked as a professor at the University of Hyderabad (India). Since 2011 Suresh is a professor at Emory University.
