How can illustration help us imagine and communicate more sustainable futures? This summer school invites students and professionals from design, illustration and related creative fields to explore drawing as a tool for visual storytelling about climate resilience in cities.
Through lectures, site visits and hands-on workshops, you will experiment with techniques ranging from quick ink sketches to watercolour and digital tools. Illustration becomes more than representation: it is a way to translate complex ecological challenges into clear, evocative images that inspire dialogue.
While the focus is grounded in urban environments and spatial design, the methods are relevant to a broad community of illustrators, designers and visual communicators. Together, we explore how artistic practice can bridge knowledge and imagination, and how visual storytelling contributes to building awareness and resilience.
