In 2025, we organised the ITDR summer school for the first time. It was a 5-day intensive and interactive course, based on theoretical insights in the process of creating interdisciplinary research, with the goal to apply these insights in practice.
The ITDR summer school was intense but rewarding. I learned to look more critically at how we often claim interdisciplinarity while mostly working multidisciplinary. Art-based methods, especially the theater workshop, pushed me out of my comfort zone. Connecting with researchers and practitioners across fields was inspiring. A true marathon, but one that left me with a backpack full of ideas and energy.

This summer school provides a good blend of knowledge and practice on IDTR. I am confident both for the value of IDTR research but also how I could use it in my own work. The organisers have created a great learning environment and I would definitely recommend this programme.

I benefited tremendously from the diversified learning experiences through the structure of the course as well as exchanges between participants.
