Through the online application form, the following information is requested:
- The full name and date or duration of the conference, project, event or collaboration.
- The name of the contact person.
- A clear and logical site structure: take a look at some examples.
- A striking photo (no logo or text in the image!) for the header. This jpeg landscape image has at least a resolution of 4000 X 2000 px. If you don't have an image available, you can freely download and use the photos of our image database.
- The name of the person in charge of updating the subsite. Subsites are preferably managed by a web editor who is familiar with the content management system and web editing guidelines.
- If that's not possible, a new web editor can be appointed, who needs to request editing rights via the form at the bottom of this page.
- A shortened URL, e.g. www.uantwerpen.be/styleguide.
What we do for you:
- The web editing team builds the subsite based on your input and publishes it.
- The new subsite is published by the web editing team within five working days. After that, the editor can add further content.
After publication
After publication, the work of the editor continues, as the site will need to be updated continuously.
Final phase
- After the conference, project or event has ended, the content of the subsite will have to be updated: registration forms and practical information need to be taken offline, while photos of the event and/or presentations, reports, etc. will need to be uploaded.
- The subsite should not be used as an archive. If you stop updating your pages, the content will become outdated and no longer relevant to visitors. Moreover, maintaining a website as an archive requires ongoing costs and efforts in terms of hosting, backups, security and maintenance.
- Instead of maintaining a website as an archive (which is certainly not a best practice), it is recommended to export important content or to save content or screenshots externally. A website that is not maintained, won't perform well in search engines. After the content has been exported, the (conference) subsite - which by definition should be temporary - can be removed from the UAntwerp website directory.
