Ethnic-cultural Inclusion & Global Engagement Month

For some time now, the University of Antwerp has been trying to put ethnic-cultural inclusion and global engagement on the map. For example by awareness-raising actions such as supporting the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 or the inauguration of the Patrice Lumumba Aula in 2023. Also on a policy level important steps were made, such as signing the VLIR Young Academy Statement of Commitment on ethnic-cultural inclusion or the Strategic Framework for Global Engagement.

In March, we will take these issues to the wider UAntwerp community, our students and staff. In fact, March 2024 will be dedicated to ethnic-cultural inclusion and global engagement. During this month, we want to involve you, student or staff member, in the steps we have already taken and also give you a voice in the steps we can take as a university in the future. In this way, we hope to bring about structural change together with you.
