About Dirk Schoenaers

Dirk Schoenaers (b. 1979) previously held research positions at the Universities of Liverpool, St. Andrews, Leiden, and University College London. He studies the literature of the medieval Low Countries, with a particular focus on historiography, translation, multilingualism, and the circulation of texts and manuscripts. In the 'Neverending Stories' project, he examines how chronicles such as the 'Brabantsche yeesten' evolved, using both philological and digital methods. His research highlights the layered nature of the text and the interplay between context and message.
