Danny studied applied economics at Antwerp University in the 1980s and has been teaching and researching in the broad field of Development Finance, from the global to the local level, since.  His PhD dealt with external debt sustainability and the relevance of debt relief initiatives, a topic on which he is still very active, and ihas always been active in providing policy support research to the Belgian development cooperation, and to other bilateral as well as multilateral donors. He also inquires into broader 'Finance for Development' issues, such as related to innovative development financing and to the application of 'real option' theories to financing mechanisms and decision making within a development context. on all of these issues, he is interested in exploring new research cooperation opportunities as well as considering PhD supervion proposals.
