Leaving Antwerp

Unfortunately, every beautiful story comes to an end. Keep in mind that you will need to arrange some important matters at the end of your stay. We also greatly value your experience at our university and therefore hope that you will fill out the evaluation to help us improve our operations.

Exams, grading and resits

The exams for most programme components are usually organised at the end of each semester, i.e. in January and June. If you need a second chance (resit) for one or more programme components, you can sit the exams again during the second session in August or September. These periods can be found on the academic calendar

If you have a resit for a course, it's best to discuss with your faculty coordinator how and where this can take place. Information about grading is available per faculty.

Certificate of departure

At the end of your stay, you will automatically receive a certificate of departure confirming your end date. If this is not sufficient for your home institution, you can ask the faculty coordinator to also fill in your own template.

Transcript of Records (TOR)

The Transcript of Records with the obtained scores at the University of Antwerp will be provided by the faculty coordinator within one month after the end of the semester.

Deregistration residence permit

Deregistering before departure is crucial when you've applied for a residence permit. Failing to do so can lead to complications, such as being liable for taxes in Belgium even after leaving. It's an important administrative step to ensure your legal status and responsibilities are properly handled.
