SDGs- HLPF 2019 held in New York

The meeting of the high-level political forum (HLPF) on sustainable development in 2019 was convened in New York, under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council, from 9 July to 18 July 2019. Discussions included the report of the Expert Group Meeting on SDG 17 (which had taken place on 12 April 2019 at the UN Headquarters in New York) entitled “Harnessing Means of Implementation (MOIs) through Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to BuildInclusive and Equitable Societies”. The findings of the report focused on the internal and external effectiveness of partnerships, highlighting concerns around power imbalances, sustained funding, reporting, accountability, local relevance and obstacles to bottom-up engagement.
