Joachim Mertens was granted a poster commendation award (Top 3 ranked poster) at the 2020 Gordon Research Conference on plasminogen activation and extracllular proteolysis in Ventura. He received the award for his poster “Selective inhibition of CPU reduces microvascular thrombosis in experimental rat stroke model”.
At the 2019 annual meeting of the Belgian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Joachim Mertens received the Paul Capel Prize for best oral presentation in the domain basic research for his presentation about the CPU system in experimental acute ischemic stroke in rats.
