About us

SDSN Belgium connects science, industry and policy to accelerate Belgium's progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We are the Belgian chapter of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) — a global network mobilising scientific and technical expertise to advance the SDGs. In Belgium, we bring together universities, businesses, public institutions and civil society to turn sustainability ambitions into concrete, scalable solutions.

What we do

• ​We build the network. We connect researchers, industry and policymakers working on sustainable development, and act as a catalyst for evidence-based best practices in education, research and industry.
• ​We localise the SDGs. Through workshops, policy publications and tools like the SDG Barometer, we help organisations and governments translate global goals into local action.
• ​We teach. Through the SDG Academy and our own training programmes, we build the next generation of sustainability expertise.
• ​We chart long-term pathways. We support initiatives such as FABLE to map out realistic routes to a sustainable future.
• ​We launch practical solutions. We identify and support novel technologies, tools, business models and policy instruments that solve a well-defined problem and can scale for real impact.
• ​We advise policymakers. We act as a partner and accelerator for science-policy-industry dialogue in Belgium, across Europe and globally.
